Sometimes you just get a lemon, it might be a car, a TV or even an intercom system… It can happen to anyone.

This apartment building with 20+ residents had nothing but problems with their intercom system, so they enlisted the assistance of Dr Intercom to try and fix the problem.

The existing intercom system was 6 years old and had never worked properly from day one. The intercom brand is not available in Australia, the manuals to the system are in another language and obtaining spare parts is not really an option. Dr Intercom attended and shared this with the Owners Corporation and provided a quotation to replace it. Nearly 2 years later and after having paid multiple contractors that told the same story; they came back to Dr Intercom to replace the whole intercom system.

The building has 1 pedestrian gate entry and 4 building entrances, meaning it needed a sophisticated system to manage them.

Using the Aiphone GT series; the Dr Intercom team used existing wiring to replace the whole intercom system.

The system was set up to ensure when the pedestrian gate entrance was unlocked from the handset, only the front pedestrian gate opens. Every apartment intercom handset utilized a second button on the intercom handset to open their building entrance door only, for their guests.

As this apartment has over 20 residents it was important that the unit had a name scroll function to ensure each resident was accessible and a keypad with keyless entry at the pedestrian gate for residents coming into the gate.
